Help and FAQ

Quick answers about how Fliqdev works. To replay the app tour, open Help & tour in your workspace menu.

How does swiping work?

Companies swipe on anonymous developer cards showing role, salary, skills and city. Developers swipe on roles. Like what suits you, pass on the rest.

What is the difference between Active and Passive?

Active developers match as soon as a company likes them. Passive developers are just browsing, so both sides have to like each other. Not looking hides you completely.

What happens when we match?

The company sees the developer's full profile and sends the first message in the app. After that both sides can chat, share details and book interviews. Chat only opens after a match, and you can report or block from any conversation.

How does matching decide which roles I see?

It is not keyword matching on applications. Each role and profile is scored on the same rules: shared skills count most, then seniority (one level either side), location region or remote, work setup, salary range and years of experience. Higher scores show first.

How do I know the roles are real?

Every new company is reviewed by the Fliqdev team as soon as it signs up, and we remove companies or roles that are not genuine. Roles cannot go live without a proper description, and you can report anything that looks off.

Can I apply to remote roles from outside South Africa?

Not yet. Fliqdev currently matches developers based in South Africa, including for remote roles.

Can companies see my name before we match?

No. Before a match companies see your role, skills, salary expectation and city only. You can also hide specific companies, like your current employer.

How does anonymity work for Passive developers?

Before a mutual like, companies see your headline, skills, salary expectation, years of experience, notice period and city. Your name, photo, contact details and employer names stay hidden. Past roles show only the job title, industry and duration. Everything unlocks once you both like each other.

What does asking price mean?

Your asking price is a gross monthly amount in South African rand (ZAR), before tax. For contract or freelance work, enter the monthly equivalent you would want and agree the hourly or day rate directly with the company once you match.

How are companies vetted?

Every company that signs up is checked by the Fliqdev team. We can revoke access for companies or roles that are not genuine, and you can report anything that looks off from any role or chat.

Can I block my current employer?

Yes. In your developer profile, under Hidden companies, add any company you do not want to see you. They will not find you in search, swiping or recommendations.

How do I change my visibility?

Developers can switch between Active, Passive and Not looking at the top of their profile at any time.

What does it cost?

Developers never pay. Companies pay 10% of a hire's first-year salary, in staggered payments, only when they hire. Unlimited hiring is negotiated.

Someone is making me uncomfortable. What can I do?

Use the flag to report or the shield to block in any conversation. Reports go to the Fliqdev team only.
