Terms and Conditions

1. About these terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses Fliqdev, whether you are a company hiring ("Client" or "Employer") or a tech professional looking for work ("Candidate"). By creating an account you agree to them, together with our Privacy Policy and the Code of Conduct below.

2. Key definitions

Candidate: a tech professional using Fliqdev. Employer or Client: a company using Fliqdev to hire.

Interview Request: an Employer’s first message or interview invitation to a Candidate through Fliqdev. Job Offer: a formal offer of employment or contract work.

Platform: the Fliqdev website and marketplace. Service: everything we provide through the Platform.

Start Date: a Candidate’s first day of work with a new Employer. Placement Form: the confirmation a Candidate completes when accepting a job through Fliqdev (the "I got the job" step in the app).

3. Accounts

You must give honest, accurate information, including your skills, experience and salary expectations, and keep your login details safe. Do not share your account. You are responsible for activity on it.

We may suspend accounts that break these terms or misuse the platform.

4. Eligibility

You confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Candidates confirm they are legally eligible to work in South Africa or in any country where they apply for roles via Fliqdev.

5. Candidates

Fliqdev is completely free for Candidates, always.

Once approved, you can make your profile visible to Employers, who can then send you Interview Requests. Passive profiles are shown anonymously, and your name and contact details are only shared with a Client after mutual interest. Active profiles are visible to approved Clients.

Please respond to Interview Requests within 48 hours, even if it is just a quick "no thanks". Fast responses keep the marketplace healthy. If you repeatedly do not respond, we may check in, and if it continues we may pause your account until you are ready to engage again.

You confirm that the experience, skills and CV details you share are true.

6. Candidates: job acceptance and confirmation

If you accept a job with an Employer you met through Fliqdev, notify us within 5 business days and complete the Placement Form to confirm your new role and Start Date.

You must give accurate details in the Placement Form: employer name, role title, salary, Start Date and contract type. False or incomplete information may lead to account suspension or loss of Fliqdev perks.

This keeps the platform fair, tracks hiring success and helps us share real market insights with the community.

7. Verification and accuracy

By using Fliqdev, you agree that we may, with your consent where required, verify information you provide (for example employment history, skills or education) through legitimate third-party channels, solely for recruitment purposes.

8. Clients: fees

Pay per hire: Clients pay a placement fee of 10% of the hired Candidate’s first-year base salary for each Candidate hired through Fliqdev.

A hire counts as made through Fliqdev if the Client hires (as an employee or contractor) a Candidate they were introduced to on Fliqdev within 12 months of that introduction.

Unlimited hiring: Clients may instead agree an unlimited hiring plan. Price, term and payment schedule are negotiated case by case and set out in a separate written agreement, which takes priority over these terms where they differ.

9. Clients: staggered payments and replacement guarantee

Pay-per-hire fees are invoiced once the Candidate accepts an offer and are paid in staggered instalments as set out on the invoice.

If a Candidate leaves during the agreed period, instalments not yet due fall away. Instalments already due remain payable.

Replacement guarantee: if a hire reported through Fliqdev leaves within 3 months of starting, we help the Client find a replacement at no extra placement fee. The guarantee applies only to hires reported through Fliqdev.

Invoices are payable within the stated payment term. Late amounts may attract interest as permitted by law. Prices exclude VAT.

10. No circumvention

Candidates agree not to bypass Fliqdev or take hiring discussions outside the platform before receiving an Interview Request. If you are introduced to an Employer through Fliqdev, all hiring discussions and outcomes (full-time, part-time, contract or freelance) must be reported through Fliqdev for 12 months from first contact. Working around the platform may cost you access to Fliqdev features, perks and account privileges.

Clients may not use Fliqdev to identify Candidates and then hire or engage them outside the platform to avoid fees. This applies for 24 months after the first introduction, whether the Candidate is engaged as an employee, contractor or freelancer, directly or through any related company, agency or third party.

Clients must report every such hire using "We hired them" in Messages or by emailing the Fliqdev team. If a hire is not reported, the Client owes 1.5 times the normal placement fee, payable in full immediately.

Fliqdev keeps a dated record of likes, messages and interviews between Clients and Candidates, which serves as evidence of an introduction.

Candidates who report getting a job through Fliqdev using "I got the job" may receive a thank-you reward, as announced by Fliqdev from time to time.

11. Code of conduct

To keep the community professional, fair and inclusive, you agree to: be respectful in all communication; not share misleading, false or confidential information; keep employer details and private hiring information confidential; keep login credentials private and secure; and report misuse or suspicious activity to support@fliq.dev.

No discrimination, harassment, spam, fake roles or fake profiles. Do not scrape, copy or resell data from Fliqdev.

Repeated breaches may result in account suspension or permanent removal.

12. Programmes, giveaways and rewards

Fliqdev may offer optional events, learning programmes, referral incentives or giveaways. Participation is voluntary and may include extra terms.

We may disqualify you or withdraw rewards if we detect fraudulent, duplicate or misleading activity, such as fake profiles, false placements or misuse of referral links.

13. Communication and notifications

By using Fliqdev, you consent to receive communications (email, SMS or in-app) about Interview Requests, placement confirmations and community updates.

You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time, but essential service notifications are needed to keep your account.

14. Feedback and testimonials

We may invite you to share feedback or testimonials. By submitting feedback, you grant Fliqdev a licence to use it, without identifying personal details, for marketing or service improvement.

15. Privacy and your data

We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). See our Privacy Policy for the details.

Employers only see the information you choose to include in your profile. Your data is used only to help you get hired and to improve the Platform. You own your content but give us permission to use it as needed to deliver the Service.

You can ask us to close your account and delete your personal data at any time.

16. Cancellation and account removal

You may ask to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, repeatedly ghost Employers or misuse the Platform.

Once your account is deleted it is no longer visible on the Platform. We keep an archived copy so it can be restored; you can ask support@fliq.dev to erase it permanently, unless the law requires us to keep records.

17. Disclaimer and liability

Fliqdev introduces Clients and Candidates but does not guarantee job placement, compensation or specific outcomes. Hiring decisions, employment contracts and their outcomes are between the Client and the Candidate, and Candidates are responsible for reviewing and negotiating their own employment terms.

To the extent allowed by law, our liability is limited to the fees paid to us in the previous 12 months.

18. Force majeure

Fliqdev is not responsible for disruptions outside its control, including power outages, internet failures, strikes, natural disasters or changes in law.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Cape Town courts.

20. Updates

We may update these terms to improve the platform or comply with new laws, and will tell you about material changes. Continued use of Fliqdev after an update means you accept the latest version.
